Willemijn geeft ook trainingen aan democratiseringsbewegingen in Oost Europa.

One project that Willemijn looks back on fondly is the Elected Mayor Tour. In the spring of 2005, the then minister Thom de Graaf made his 1,200 kilometre journey through the Dutch Municipalities. A media army followed him on his tour. ‘It was great to cross the country in this way,’ says Willemijn. ‘In the morning, you had no idea how your day would end. It was incredibly hectic and dynamic, you had to constantly adapt to new circumstances.’
