The Night of the United Nations

The Night of the United Nations is a large public festival focusing on the goals of the United Nations and how it operates. The Night is a refreshing mix of readings and debates, theatre and music and a programme packed with big names, engaging speakers and musical super acts.

For the 2007 edition, around 2,400 young people flocked to the Amsterdam nightlife ‘triangle’ of the Melkweg, Cinecenter and Sugar Factory. The Night focused on peace, security and the millennium goals. Special themes were the role of sport in sustainable development and the role of business as a peace builder in conflict zones.
