Delft Council
Science Port Holland - the launch
Over the coming years, the Science Port Holland will be built on a piece of undeveloped land next to the A13. The councils of Delft and Rotterdam and the Technixcal University Delft (TU) are working together on two hi-tech business parks. Science Port Holland will be constructed on both sides of the motorway, right in the middle of the Netherlands’ economic heart. The business park is designed to be a magnet for businesses that develop products and services on the basis of high-value knowledge. It is an ambitious plan; Science Port Holland wants to be on a par with other successful science centres such as those in Cambridge, Oulu and Stanford. Bringing together technology and entrepreneurship at this logistically first-rate location must strengthen the international position of the southern side of the Netherlands’ urban zone.
